How to make Soya Chaap

Welcome to my kitchen, today we will make Soya Chaap. Soya Chaap is vegetarian meat prepared with soybean chunks and flour. Soya Chaap, primarily a north Indian dish is enriched with proteins and is tasty to eat. This is a purely vegetarian dish but is considered equivalent to non-vegetarian dishes. so if you don't like to eat nonveg then you can make this and eat. so let's see how to make Soya Chaap.




Ingredients of Soya Chaap

6 Soya Chaap (soya sticks)
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon refined oil

First, we will ready to Soya Chaap. after that will dip the Soya Chaap in gravy.

Step 1:- Gently remove Soya Chaap from the sticks. You can easily slide them using a fork.

Step 2:- Cut them into big chunks.

Step 3:- Take a bowl and dress Soya Chaap pieces in red chili, turmeric and salt. Mix nicely.

Step 4:- Heat refined oil in a pan. Fry Soya Chaap pieces till they are light brown in color. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Ingredients For The Soya Chaap Gravy:

1 bay leaf (Tej Patta)
1 Cup fine chopped onion
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 Cup tomato paste (grind 2 small-size tomatoes)
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp Garam masala
2 green chili, long sliced
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
4 tbsp mustard oil (Sarson oil)
Curd and sugar (optional)
           
Making Method of Soya Chaap Gravy

Step 1:- Heat mustard oil in a heavy bottom pan.

Step 2:- Put the bay leaf in oil. Fry till the aroma is released approximately 2 - 3 seconds.

Step 3:- Next, add the chopped onion. Fry it over low flame till golden in color. keep stirring at regular intervals while frying onion.

Step 4:- As soon as the onion turns golden, add ginger garlic paste and cook until its raw smell goes away

Step 5:- Add the tomato paste, red chili powder, turmeric and stir to combine. Fry the masala over low heat till it starts to release the oil. Stir the spice continuously

Step 6:- Now, add the roasted Soya Chaap pieces and cook it covered for 10 minutes

Step 7:- After 10 minutes, remove the lid and add coriander powder, garam masala and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes. in this stage, if you like the sour-sweet taste on spice. then you can add 1tbsp curd and 1tsp sugar.

Step 8:- in the last add approximately 1 Cup of water, green chili and chopped coriander. Mix and allow the gravy to simmer for next 10 minutes over low heat. To reduce the thickness of gravy add approximately 2 Cups of water instead of 1 Cup.  

Serve Soya Chaap Masala with chapati, rice or Lachha paratha.
