potato chips. I think potato chips are the best snack option in this lockdown
time. because potato will be easily found in the market. and you can make it easily at
home. Potato chips are one of the most popular snack items in the whole world.
Potato chips are relished by everyone especially kids and it is not possible to
buy the chips for them all the time. So, you can prepare these potato chips at
your home with complete hygiene. potato chips are also
made by drying in sunlight. Which you can store and keep. but today we will
make instant potato chips. Which you can make whenever you want to eat with
tea. so let's go and make instant potato chips
Ingredients
for
potato chips
- 1-2 medium size royal red potato if you have not red potato then you can use brown potato.
- cold water
- oil for deep frying
- ½ tsp pepper (kali Mirch) crushed
- pinch of salt
- Red Chilli powder (it is optional) if you don't want to add then you can skip.
Making
method of instant potato chips.
Step
1:- Firstly,
peel the skin of potatoes.
Step
2:- Cut
the potatoes into thin slices with the help of chips cutter or any food
processor. (if you can cut very thin slices with a knife then you can use a knife)
Step
3:- The
slices should be thin and equal in size. The thinner the potato chips, the more
crispy the chips will become.
Step
4:- Wash
the potato slices nicely in water for 2 or 3 times until the water runs out
clean. This will remove any excess starch from the surface. Now, add about a tsp
of salt to the bowl, mix well and leave the potato slices for 15 min to soak up
in water.
Step
5:- After
10-15 mins, remove the potato slices from the water and leave them to dry on a
clean kitchen towel/paper napkins.
Step
6:- Wipe
the water from them with a clean cloth. Make sure there are no water drops on
potatoes. Otherwise, the oil will splatter.
Step
7:- Meanwhile
heat the oil on Kadai. When the oil is a little smoky hot, medium the flame.
Step
8:- Take
the sliced potato one by one and put as many chips that can be dipped totally
in the oil.
Step
9:- Keep
tossing up the potato slices in the oil, until they turn slightly golden and/or
crisp.
Step
10:- Remember
Do not fry the chips at high heat else
the chips will turn brown too soon. Fry the chips at medium to low flame. stir
occasionally and fry on both sides.
Step
11:- Once
the potato slices turn crips and slight golden spots start to appear over the
edges. this means potatoes have been fried
Step
12:- Take
out the fried potatoes in a big bowl. so that it cools down fastly. Potato
Chips do not absorb oil so no need to drain them over a kitchen towel.
Step
13:- Fry
the rest of the chips in the same way. and take out the same bowl.
Step
14:- Taste
the potato chips. if required then you
can sprinkle more salt in this stage. and with salt sprinkle some black pepper powder and red chili powder. and
mix gently.
Step
15:- Now
your potato chips are ready to serve.
you can store it in an airtight container or zip lock bag and serve it later with
tea or coffee in the evening snack.
