How to make chilli paneer-INDIAN FOOD


Welcome to my kitchen, today we will make Chili Paneer. Crispy Chili Paneer is made by putting fried Paneer in sweet-sour and spicy chili sauce. you can make the gravy slightly thick or having a medium consistency. you can enjoy the test of restaurant-style chili Paneer at your home.  

We will prepare batter first for Paneer, so let’s see which ingredients are required.

CHILLI PANEER RECIPE



Ingredients for Chili Paneer 

2 tablespoons cornstarch (corn flour )
3 tablespoons maida (White flour)
½ teaspoon ginger paste
½ teaspoon garlic paste
¼ teaspoon crushed black pepper or black pepper powder
¼ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
salt according to test
¼ cup water or add as required
3 tablespoons oil
200 grams paneer - cut in cubes

Making Method of Chili Paneer 

Step 1:- In a bowl take 2 tablespoons cornstarch. then mix 3 tablespoons maida (White flour).

Step 2:- Now put 2 teaspoons finely chopped ginger, 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic,  ¼ teaspoon crushed black pepper or black pepper powder and ¼ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder. mix little bit salt only for taste. mix well.

Step 3:-  Add ¼ cup water or add as required. and make a thick smooth batter without any lumps.

Step 4:- Now add paneer cubes in the batter. with a spoon gently coat the paneer cubes with the batter.

Step 5:- Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a frying pan. and roast the paneer cubes are till becoming crisp and golden.  when one side is done, then flip it and fry the other side. flip a couple of times and fry till the paneer cubes are crisp and golden. do not over-fry the paneer or else they will become hard.

Step 6:- Remove the fried paneer cubes and place them on kitchen paper towels for the extra oil to be absorbed.

Ingredients for chili paneer gravy or sauce

2 small spring onions finely chopped
2 to 3 green chilies, finely chopped or long sliced
2 teaspoons finely chopped ginger
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
1 small to medium capsicum finely chopped.
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon red chili sauce
¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
½ to 1 teaspoon sugar as your required
salt according to your taste
½ to cup of water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 to 3 tablespoons water to making a paste of cornflour
¼ to ½ teaspoon rice vinegar or white vinegar - OPTIONAL
2 to 3 spring onion  finely chopped for garnished in last 
                      

Making Method of chili paneer gravy or sauce


Step 1:- In the same pan, there will be some oil left. In which the paneer was fried. so no need to add any extra oil. 

Step 2:- Add 2 teaspoons finely chopped ginger, 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic and 2 to 3 green chilies (slit or sliced). stir fry on medium to high flame for some seconds.

Step 3:- Now add cup chopped spring onions. stir fry spring onions for 1 to 2 minutes on medium to high flame.

Step 4:- After that add ½ cup sliced capsicum. stir fry on medium to high flame for 3 to 4 minutes. the capsicum only needs to be slightly cooked. lower the flame

Step 5:- And then add ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder. then add 2 teaspoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon red chili sauce.stir and mix well the sauces and red chili powder with the remaining stir-fried ingredients.

Step 6:- Add ½ to cup of water. mix well. let the mixture come to a simmer on medium flame.

Step 7:-Meanwhile take 1 tablespoon cornstarch in a small bowl. add 2 to 3 tablespoons water mix very well to get a smooth paste.

Step 8:- Lower the flame and then add this corn starch paste to the gravy. as soon as you add cornflour paste to the gravy. you have to stir continuously to mix the paste very well so that no lumps are formed.

Step 9:- Add ½ to 1 teaspoon sugar or as required. and add salt according to your taste. keep remember already contains have salt in soy sauce and red chili sauce. so you mix salt little bit first then check. as required then you can add more salt

Step 10:- Now mix very well and simmer till the chili paneer sauce has slightly thickened and the corn starch has cooked. here you can check the taste. The sauce should not have the raw taste of cornflour.

Step 11:- Add the fried paneer cubes. mix paneer cubes very well with the gravy.switch off the flame and then add ¼ to ½ teaspoon rice vinegar or white vinegar. it is optional if you don't like it then you can skip.

Step 12:- Then add about 2 to 3 tablespoons of chopped spring onions greens. mix very well.

Now your chili paneer is ready to serve.

To give a look like restaurant-style you can garnish with some spring onions.
