Aloo Tikki Recipe





Welcome to my kitchen, Today we will make aloo ki Tikki. Aloo Tikki recipe. potato is a versatile vegetable that can be used for many types of recipes.  It is also easily available. Aloo Tikki is a popular North Indian snack of spiced, crisp, and tasty potato patties. a simple and easy patty recipe made with boiled and mashed potatoes. the potato-based Tikki is the foundation for many recipes like sandwiches, burgers, street food, and many chaat recipes. you can make it easily at home. I am a huge fan of potato recipes.  like, chips, french fries, aloo chaat, aloo Tikki chole, aloo Tikki burger, and Aloo Tikki. Aloo Tikki is the most popular one made out of it.  it is all-time favorite snacks to all. Whenever I feel like eating something spicy. The name of Aloo Tikki comes first. We cannot outside from home due to lockdown, so make potato Tikki at home. and enjoy eating with your family. You can serve aloo Tikki with coriander chutney & tamarind chutney. or you can eat it with sweet yogurt.

Ingredients for Aloo Tikki
  • 3 to 4 medium-sized potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 to 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste,
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½  teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • ½ tsp amchur powder
  • 2 tablespoon cornflour (corn starch) or rice flour or arrowroot flour, Whatever you have,  add as required
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons chopped coriander leaves
  • Oil for frying the Tikkis
  • salt as required 



Aloo Tikki Recipe

Step 1:- Wash and Boil the potatoes, peel, and let them cool. You can boil them on stove-top or a pressure cooker. be very careful while boiling the potatoes. if you use a pressure cooker to boil these so has to be removed from the water immediately the pressure is released. otherwise, the potatoes may absorb water and may not attain the Tikki shape.

Step 2:- Once the potatoes are cooled, mash them using a potato masher.

Step 3:- Add chopped green chili, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, ¼ tsp turmeric, and ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder. also, add ½ tsp cumin powder and 2 teaspoon coriander powder, ½ tsp amchur, ½ tsp chaat masala, and salt according to your test.

Step 4:- Add 2 tbsp coriander. add 2 tbsp cornflour and mix well it helps to absorb moisture. You can also add rice flour instead of cornflour (corn starch).

Step 5:- Divide the mixture into small shaped patties. Apply some oil on your palms when making the patties or Tikkis.

Step 6:- In Meanwhile, till making Tikki. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil on the medium-hot flame in a Tava or a shallow frying pan.

Step 7:- Gently place the Tikki and pan-fry them. and roast on low flame until it turns golden brown.

Step 8:- When one side of Tikki becomes golden and crisp, turn over and fry the other side of Tikki.

Step 9:- Roast the Tikki till becomes golden and evenly crisp.

Step 10:- When the Tikki become golden and crisp. then drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil

Serve and enjoy to aloo Tikki with coriander green chutney, tamarind chutney. you can prepare also aloo Tikki chaat with yogurt, chutney, spices. and garnish them with cilantro and pomegranate seeds.
