Rava dosa recipe

 


Welcome to my kitchen, Today we will make Rava dosa at home. Making Rava dosa is very easy and the best part is that no grinding or fermentation is required. You can make it instantly with only a handful of ingredients. Rava dosa is a South Indian breakfast made with semolina, maida, rice flour, chopped onion and green chilis, and some other ingredients. This is a very quick recipe. Making the batter for this dosa is super easy, you only have to mix everything together and then let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes, and then you can make the dosa. you can make it easier when you want to eat. time of breakfast or lunch. you can serve it with tomato chutney or coconut chutney. so let's start to make.

Ingredients for Rava dosa

  • ½ cup unroasted fine Rava (semolina)
  • ½ cup of rice flour
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped
  • 2 to 3 green chilies, chopped
  • ½ inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 8 to 10 curry leaves, chopped
  • Some chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ teaspoon crushed black
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Water or add as required
  • Salt to taste
  • oil or ghee for cooking Rava dosa

Making Batter for dosa

Step 1:- Take a large size bowl and add Take ½ cup uncooked Rava, 1/2 flour cup rice flour and 1/4 cup maida.

Step 2:- Now add chopped onions,  chopped green chilies, and chopped ginger.

Step 3:- After that add ½ tsp crushed black pepper, ½ tsp cumin, chopped curry leaves, and salt as required.

Step 4:- Add water. And whisk until smooth without any lumps. And make a thin and smooth solution

Step 5:- If the batter feels thick or has a medium consistency, then you can add more water. If the batter looks too thin, then you can add rice flour.

Step 6:- Cover and let the dosa batter rest for 20 to 30 minutes.



Making dosa

Step 1:- Firstly, before make dosas, mix the batter very well. and then heat the Tawa. spread some oil on the Tawa.

Step 2:- Now with the help of a ladle, pour the dosa batter over very hot Tawa carefully. Begin at the edges and move towards the center.

Step 3:- When cooked upwards, then sprinkle 1 tsp of oil with oil on the top and sides.

Step 4:- On a low to medium flame, cook until the dosa turns golden and crisp. You can even cook both sides if you want.

Step 5:- Finally, fold the dosa and serve Rava dosa immediately with tomato chutney or coconut chutney.
